About

A product of 1950’s Coolidge Corner, near Fenway Park, where the butcher and tailor shared the block with a deli and two Chinese restaurants, Joanne was repeatedly told that little girls should be seen and not heard. Yeah, right. Her adventurous spirit led her to study theater at Northwestern and creative media at Emerson, before diving headfirst into San Francisco radio and television, where she hosted and produced award-winning feminist and other timely features and talk shows for decades.

Her debut memoir, By Accident, is a journey through life-threatening calamities from which she emerges stronger and wiser. It’s spiced with juicy anecdotes from rock radio in the 70’s and 80’s and profound, healing revelations.

Joanne writes for herself and the world, hosts a few different podcasts, and ghost writes for a PR firm in L.A., from her home in Marin County, CA, where she lives with her husband of 41 years and their damn near perfect Goldendoodle, Moxie. Both sons and two grandkids are thriving in Los Angeles.
