I am an associate professor of sociology at a branch campus of Indiana University. My previous publications include Society Explained - with a new edition underway. My areas of interest include Race Relations, Equity in Education, and Neoliberalism. Prior to IU, I was a professor at Jacksonville University and a council member of the Jacksonville Human Rights Commission. My writing reflects a politically informed and down-to-earth approach to engaging readers. I am working on a new manuscript concerning civil rights activism during these divisive times.
