PJ McIlvaine

PJ McIlvaine is a prolific, published author/screenwriter/writer/journalist.

PJ’s best-selling debut Middle-Grade Supernatural Historical Mystery novel VIOLET YORKE, GILDED GIRL: GHOSTS IN THE CLOSET was published in April 2022 by Darkstroke Books.

PJ also has A GOOD MAN, a gritty Contemporary Adult Psych Thriller coming in May 2023 from Bloodhound Books.

THE CONUNDRUM OF CHARLEMAGNE CROSSE, a Young Adult Alternate History Adventure will be published in September 2023 from Orange Blossom Publishing.

Also, PJ has four picture books tentatively coming out in 2024-2027 with Oghma Creative Media.

PJ’s debut picture book LITTLE LENA AND THE BIG TABLE was published in May 2019 from Big Belly Book Co. with illustrations by Leila Nabih.

PJ has another picture book, DRAGON ROAR from MacLaren-Cochrane Publishing published in October 2021 with art by Logan Rogers.

PJ is also a co-host and founding member of #PBPitch, the premiere Twitter pitch party for picture book creators.

PJ has been published in numerous outlets including The New York Times and Newsday, and is a regular contributor for The Children’s Book Insider newsletter (paid firewall), writing about the path to publication and interviews with established and debut kid lit authors.

Also, PJ’s critically acclaimed Showtime original family movie MY HORRIBLE YEAR with Mimi Rogers, Karen Allen, and Eric Stoltz, was nominated for a Daytime Emmy.

PJ lives in Eastern Long Island with her family and Luna, a French Bulldog masquerading as a couch potato. PJ is distantly related to the French writer and feminist Simone de Beauvoir.

When not writing, PJ is usually running after her rambunctious grandchildren who are an endless source of inspiration, exasperation, and perspiration.
