Omar Hakim serves as a Professor of Practice at Texas A&M University, teaching entrepreneurship and technology commercialization to the next generation of Aggie entrepreneurs, scientists, and engineers. Omar is a co-founder, past executive director, and current board member of the Aggie Angel Network. Omar is also a licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) in Texas, with licenses in both industrial & systems engineering and software engineering.

Omar's recent past professional experiences include VP of Client Strategy at a leading US law firm, a career as a senior executive at Accenture, angel investing, co-founding several startups, managing an award-winning startup incubator, executive director of an angel investment network, and being an inventor with 26 issued and pending US patents.

While at Accenture, Omar's last position was the Asia Regional Director of Network Consulting (managing client engagements across 15 Asian countries). He served as a member of the Accenture Technology Ventures (ATV) due diligence team, which directed investments from Accenture's internally managed $1 billion VC fund. Omar also managed the patent portfolio of Accenture's Communications & High Tech global market unit.

Omar has worked for clients that include the United States Air Force, Revlon, Tenneco, Singapore Telecom, Korea Telecom, Applied Materials (CFO's office), the Malaysian Prime Minister's Office (MAMPU), and NASA.
