Elio is a Mars 2020 Perseverance & Ingenuity Test and Operations Engineer at NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory. He is verifying avionics, payloads, and software, to ensure that operations on the surface of Mars are fully characterized. Elio Morillo was born in Ecuador, spent his childhood in Puerto Rico, and graduated high school in NYC. He completed his undergraduate career as a mechanical engineer with a minor in electrical engineering as well as a master's in systems engineering & design, both at the University of Michigan. Elio is passionate about space exploration, expansion, and equitable access.
