Susan Hailey's writing is often described as supernatural, using a descriptive style implementing mood and tone to create a vivid experience for readers. Music is her creative muse and relies on long walks for inspiration.
Being raised in the Chicago Northwest Suburb of Buffalo Grove, Susan started working at the age of 9, delivering newspapers. Waking up at 4:30 in the morning each and every day to start rolling newspapers instilled a strong work ethic in her. Susan had a red wagon filled with papers, walking alone in the early hours - working before going to school. She has said, nothing can take the place of her memories, independently riding her red bike to the bank each Saturday, depositing a little paycheck and generous tips from neighbors.
After raising 5 children through college and selling her company, Susan committed to writing full-time while working with other business ventures. When not writing, you can find her playing tennis, golf, kayaking, visiting art galleries and wineries. The environment has always been important to Susan, including clean water availability and clean oceans.
