C.J. Spotswood, BSN, RN-BC “aka EntheoNurse” is a board-certified psychiatric-mental health Registered Nurse working in an emergency department in central Maine. C.J. is a 3rd generation male nurse and has 20 years of psychiatric nursing experience, after earning his LPN nursing degree while in high school. Currently, C.J. is enrolled at the University of Southern Maine completing his Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, graduating in May 2021. C.J. graduated from the University of Maine at Augusta for his undergrad, one of 15 nursing schools endorsed as a holistic school of nursing. This curriculum included yoga, Reiki, and various other complementary and alternative treatment modalities. C.J. also holds an Associates Degree in Nursing from Clinton Community College and a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology with a minor in Community Health from SUNY Potsdam.
C.J. has been researching and educating psychedelics since 2017. He presented “Psychedelics in Psychiatry” at the American Psychiatric Nurse Association’s national conference in New Orleans. After completing Psychedelics Today’s Navigating Psychedelics: for Clinicians & Therapists education program he reached out and ended up presenting 2 modules for their program. Additionally, C.J. co-authored Psychedelic Support’s continuing education module on psilocybin for healthcare professionals and is a past presenter at Mt. Tam’s Psilocybin Summit. C.J. has his own accredited continuing education program entitled “Psychedelics in Psychiatry for Nurses” on his personal website.
C.J. is a charter member of the International Association of Psychedelic Nurses, a member of the Psychedelic Medicine Association, and the American Psychiatric Nurse Association. When he is not working or in school, he can be found spending time with his fiancé Magen and his daughter Malarie exploring Maine’s outdoors and craft breweries.
