Nicola Pittam is a British screenwriter, award winning author and former Fleet Street
journalist.
Her TV pilot, HOUSE OF THE RISING SUN, made the Bitch List 2019 and also placed in the semifinals of both the Shore Scripts TV contest and the Los Angeles International Screenplay Awards 2019.
Her other TV pilot, THE MAID, was a finalist in the NYC International Screenplay Awards and a quarterfinalist in the Los Angeles International Screenplay Awards, Scriptapalooza, The Atlanta Film Festival Screenplay Awards and Cinestory.
Her latest feature script, ODE TO JOY, was the winner of the Write Like A Girl script contest, placed in the Top Ten of Roadmap Writer's Top Tier contest, and was a semi-finalist at the Los Angeles International Screenplay Awards 2019.
Nicola also won Roadmap’s Elevator Pitch Contest with her pitch for OTJ.
Nicola was also a key member of ScreenwritingU’s development team and spent two years helping create SU’s popular Bingeworthy TV masterclass.
She is also the co-author of “Christian Bale: The Inside Story of the Darkest Batman,” a biography of the Oscar winning actor which won 4 awards in 2012-2013 including Best Biography at the Indie Book Awards and the National Indie Excellence Awards.
Nicola has also won several awards for her journalism in the British publication, The Sun, as well the News of the World and Daily Mirror, along with several other UK women’s magazines.
She currently has two non fiction books being repped in the UK and is also working on a YA time-travel antasy novel.
