About
Breaking away from the formality of business writing, which I did in the venture capital and entrepreneurial worlds for over 20 years, has been a challenging and joyous journey. It has taken me through the SEO trials of online articles, to the labyrinth of poetry, to the unfolding drama of novels, and now to the frolic of children's books. I presently have more projects on the drawing board than I can realistically complete, and that is truly joyous.
I am watching the snow filter down on a chilly Sunday afternoon. We so desperately need the refreshment that the snow brings. I am looking for ways to use some of my writing skills to help on climate change issues. I am hoping too that my writings help us discover ways to simply understand each other a bit better. Were I to accomplish that, I would consider my career a massive success.

The Mystical Land of Myrrh
Moira, an idealistic young woman in the Peace Corps finds herself in a country on the brink of massive upheaval -- Somalia. And she is a lesbian in a country, a Moslem country, where such aberrations are sinful beyond measure. As tensions in Somalia reach a boiling point, her students teach her what it truly means to help someone, and a brave young Somali woman saves her life one starry night. In wonderment she reads Emily Dickinson by the starlight of the Milky Way, her heart aching from watching a dear Somali friend being tortured for what Moira did. Sometimes it felt as though her tour was one of leaping from blunder to disaster, but over it all was the splendor of the Goddess Arawello, the Somali Goddess who once brought peace and joy to her country, and who may do so again one day.
The story is based on the author's experience as a Peace Corps volunteer in Somalia 50 years ago when few people had even heard of Somalia.
