I trained as a cultural sociologist at UC-Berkeley and moved to Bern, the capital of Switzerland, when I married my Swiss husband. Previously I'd lived in Puerto Rico, Canada, Sweden and the continental US, where I was born. Over the years I’ve worked at a mix of jobs, from factory forewoman to cross-cultural coach; from director of a small non-profit organization to freelance journalist. A few years ago I started writing crime fiction, and I've just (2021) placed first mystery, a police procedural set in Bern, with Seventh Street Books in the US.
