About
Marc Liebman retired from both the business world and the U.S. Navy to become a full time author. The seven novels in the award winning Josh Kaman series - BIG MOTHER 40, RENDER HARMLESS, CHERUBS , FORGOTTEN, INNER LOOK, MOSCOW AIRLIFT and THE SIMUSHIR ISLAND INCIDENT are out. The first of his Jaco Jacinto Age of Sail Series, RAIDER OF THE SCOTTISH COAST, was released in July, 2020. And, the first book - FLIGHT OF THE PAWNEE - in a new series with Derek Almer as the main character was released in January 2021.
Three of his novels have won national awards. FORGOTTEN has one three. It was selected as the 2017 Finalist in Historical Fiction in the Next Generation Indie Book Awards, 2017 Finalist in Fiction in the Book Excellence Awards and rated as Five Star by Reader's Favorite. INNER LOOK was also rated Five Star by Reader's Favorite. In June 2013, BIG MOTHER 40 was ranked #48 in the Top 100 War Novels by the Readers Who Buy Books on Amazon.
In the business world, he has been the CEO of an aerospace and defense manufacturing firm; a commercial pilot; an associate editor of a national magazine; a copywriter for an advertising agency; a consultant and a senior executive for a business process management firm.
He is a Naval Aviator and a combat veteran of Vietnam, the tanker wars of the 1980s and Desert Shield/Desert Storm. Marc has flown a variety of tactical military aircraft as well as corporate jets and helicopters. He is retired as a Captain after twenty-four years in the Navy and a career that took him all over the world. Marc has worked with the armed forces of Australia, Canada, Japan, Thailand, Republic of Korea, the Philippines and the U.K.
Throughout his military and civilian careers, as a freelance writer, Marc wrote about skiing, and defense and foreign affairs. Marc lives in Savannah, Texas with his wife of 50+ years, and Standard Poodle and spends a lot of time visiting his seven grand-children.

Raider of the Scottish Coast
It is 1775 and the American Revolution has begun. In England, the Royal Navy has one eye on the rebellious colonials and the other on its traditional enemy, the French. Two teenagers an ocean apart become midshipmen in their respective navies. Sixteen year-old Jaco Jacinto from Charleston, SC joins the newly formed Continental Navy to help his countrymen win their freedom. His first ship is the Alfred whose first lieutenant is John Paul Jones.
Living in Gosport, England a town across the harbor from the Royal Navy's base at Portsmouth, Darren Smythe wanted to be a Royal Navy officer since he was a little boy. At 15, he graduated from the Royal Naval Academy and is assigned to H.M.S. Deer.
On different ships, Jacinto and Smythe serve with great leaders and bad ones as battles, politics and the school of naval hard knocks mold their careers. Jacinto and Smythe start as mortal enemies until they meet and become friends knowing later they will again be enemies determined to do their duty.
Raider of the Scottish Coast is the first book in an Age of Sail series that follows the careers of these two men as their lives intertwine. They fight in the American Revolution, renew their friendship while England fights the French in the Napoleonic wars and the Americans have to deal with the French in the Quasi War and take on the Barbary Pirates. Their close friendship is tested as the Royal Navy, desperate for men to crew its ships, impresses seam from American merchant ships. In the end, Darren and Jaco are forced, once again, to become enemies during the War of 1812.
