About

I'm mostly an oral historian, trained as a journalist. My books include:
Frauen / German Women Recall the Third Reich
Hey, Waitress! The USA from the Other Side of the Tray
Indian Voices / Listening to Native Americans.
Since 2015 I've been interviewing the extraordinary Del Seymour, now "mayor of the Tenderloin" in San Francisco, about his life before, during, and after, years of homelessness brought on by crack cocaine addiction. I have a completed first draft , both wrenching and rollicking.
