About

Oh, well. I've written adult romances and young adult romances, and I was a longtime member of Toastmasters International so that I'm equipped to talk about writing, having written, wanting to write, and whether or not you should write. I've been a contestant on Jeopardy! and chatted up by Alex Trebek (he has a nice tan). I've worked on the wonderful Novelists, Inc. board with some brilliant and capable women, and I've served as editor of NINK. I'm also a charter member of Romance Writers of America and have presented workshops at many local and national conferences.

Since 1986, I've been a proud member of The Authors Guild. In Winter, 1992, The Authors Guild Bulletin featured my lead article, "A Romance Writer Reports on the Cinderella Genre." My last paragraph: "Underneath the soot and ashes that have been piled on us by our critics, our Cinderella genre is a princess. And we and the millions of fans all over the world who love our books hope that someday we will find the recognition and happy ending that we deserve." Have we? You decide.

On behalf of my Italian publisher, Mondadori, I spoke at a luncheon for 500 at the Excelsior Hotel in Rome, using a Sri Lankan interpreter who enjoyed translating my amazing story about how Burt Reynolds was the first man to make me feel like a real woman (it's not what you think). I was a member of the first cultural delegation of U.S. women to China ever sponsored by the Shanghai Women's Federation and spent 17 days trekking from Beijing to Hong Kong while giving impromptu and planned speeches to university students, career women, and tourists on the Great Wall as I handed out copies of my books (it's not what you think).

My books have won numerous and prestigious awards from numerous and prestigious organizations, though somehow I've managed to be repeatedly orphaned, backed into corners, and eventually dumped by numerous and prestigious publishers (it is what you think). So I became a cruise lecturer and traveled the world on luxury liners while giving advice to would-be writers having the time of their lives, which I was too. Pretty cool, actually. Yes, I'm still writing. Yes, I'm still publishing. Concurrently, along with my sister, I'm running the 51-year-old family commercial real estate business in two states and the Bahamas. I'm president of two corporations and manage an LLC. That's pretty cool, too.

BOOK INFO

I've written lots of books for adults and teenagers, published by Harlequin, Silhouette, Mills & Boon and Berkley. Many are available from www.eHarlequin.com, but naturally I'd prefer readers to buy my own digital releases (because, seriously, I make more money with those, and who wouldn't want to make more money?) My delightfully digital books are available at www.amazon.com, www.bn.com, www.kobo.com and every other outstanding online venue. Plus they're cheaper than you'll find from Harlequin.

My current releases in these online venues are part of my Keeping Secrets series (sex, lies, and secrets wrapped up in plots you probably wouldn't expect to find in a romance novel). Look for TOUCH THE STARS, SUNSHINE AND SHADOWS, THROUGH EYES OF LOVE, and EVER SINCE EVE. I'll soon be releasing my next series, BEACH BACHELORS.

There's more, but you'll have to visit www.pamelabrowning.com if you want the boring version. I'm available to edit and teach, maybe.
