I've been a lover of books my entire life. I've enjoyed picking up books that were so well written that they provide me entre into a world that I otherwise would never have known.
I believe that writers can change the world through the power of the pen.
So I've decide to write about my journey as a woman of color in the legal profession who was reared in the Southern Baptist tradition of having a faith to overcome all obstacles; racism, sexism, classism and elitism .
I will also share the experiences of my extended family on both sides of because OUR stories are intertwined with the history of America since slavery. From plantations in South Carolina and Virginia, to our Great Migration north, the hope of the Civil Rights Movement, our men fighting in America's wars and watching as the War on Drugs wreaked havoc on our sons and daughters caught up in the belly of the beast-Urban America .
I write because you must know your past and share life lessons with the next generation in order to move forward. Write and Speak Your Truth.
