Christine Evans is a multi-award-winning playwright whose plays have been produced in her native Australia, the US, Canada, the UK, Austria and New Zealand. Her play TROJAN BARBIE premiered at the American Repertory Theater, has over thirty subsequent production and is published by Samuel French (UK and US). Recent honors include a 2020 Howard Foundation Award, serial MacDowell Fellowships and three DC Commission on the Arts and Humanities Fellowships. Christine holds an M.F.A. and Ph.D. from Brown University, taught at Harvard from 2007-12, and is an associate professor at Georgetown University. Her novel-in-verse, Cloudless, was released by UWA Publishing (2015).
Current projects include the libretto for Three Marys, a contemporary chamber opera composed by Andrée Greenwell and developed by Opera Queensland and QPAC; a just-completed novel, NADIA, about a Bosnian Muslim refugee in 1990s London; and the novel-in-progress, RIVER & MUDDE, featuring a runaway girl and a mutant bio-drone crow.
