I'm a retired biology professor and part-time author. Growing up poor in rural northern Wisconsin I found my place in nature and literature, equally. Writing my passion circles around historical novels, retelling tales that need remembering; going beyond the historical "truth" to deeper, more interesting truths about who we are, how time and place mold us into who we are, and how in spite of that we are the same, across time and place.
