I am Senior Lecturer in Environmental Studies and Sciences, Emeritus at Santa Clara University, where my chair was in environmental writing and literature. Since taking early retirement, I have published two books with the Comstock Publishing Associates imprint of Cornell University Press: Coves of Departure: Field Notes from the Sea of Cortes (2018); and Nature Beyond Solitude: Notes from the Field (2020).
