Carla Rae Belkin
I am dyslexic. Reading was always painful, but writing a joy. One learns to compensate as the years pass but as a child I fought with each assignment that required me to place a book in hand and then translate what others found to be a joy and a breeze. I write for those children and all those who find words to be empty. My books are visually entrancing with pictures before each chapter. There is only encouragement to share the experiences of the characters with short chapters and indeed a book that can be easily read in only one sitting. Yes, my goal is to attract those readers, but even the most advanced fifteen year-old will be taken in by the spunky perseverance of Libbie Lyndton. I am a Grandmother and only wish for children to leave this experience feeling better for the engagement.
