About
As a former English major, I've built my entire career on writing -- usually for other people. Now I've just published my first memoir, "The Ghost Marriage," with SheWrites Press. I've also written a novel, as yet unpublished. My short story, "Parting with Nina." won first prize in The Ledge magazine's 2004 short fiction contest. And my blog, "Roma Redux" recounted my return to Rome after living there 33 years before. I'm currently at work on a historical novel about two members of the Lost Generation.

The Ghost Marriage
Steve and Kirsten Beckwith shared 26 years together. There was the bliss of courtship, the contentment of marriage, and the love of parenthood—then anger, spite, unforgivable damage. When Steve dies suddenly of colon cancer, he leaves Kirsten saddled with his debts of $1.5 million. As she fights toward recovery, she begins to receive communications from Steve in the afterlife that lead her on an unexpected path to forgiveness. The Ghost Marriage is her story of discovery—that life isn’t limited to the tangible reality we experience on this earth, and that our worst adversaries can become our greatest teachers.
