Richard Curtis is a literary agent and author of over fifty works of fiction and nonfiction ranging from action-adventure thrillers to satires (HOW TO PROSPER IN THE COMING APOCALYPSE) to PERILS OF THE PEACEFUL ATOM, a groundbreaking book about the dangers of nuclear power plants. Early in the 1980's, he started writing an advice column for Locus, a science fiction newsletter, and out of his articles several books have been published including HOW TO BE YOUR OWN LITERARY AGENT, BEYOND THE BESTSELLER, MASTERING THE BUSINESS OF WRITING, and THIS BUSINESS OF PUBLISHING. For many years he wrote the annual holiday poem for Publishers Weekly.

He has also had numerous one-act comedies and dramas performed in theaters around New York City including THE TUTU TRILOGY and GODHEAD. In 2019 his one-act play PREDILECTIONS was selected for the LaBute One Act Play Festival. In October of 2019 his first full-length play, a comedy entitled QUIET ENJOYMENT, will be produced off-Broadway.
