Mexican Writer and Editor, author of 30 books of fiction, non-fiction and poetry translated to fifteen languages. His Ph.D. under Roland Barthes, is from The University of Paris, where he lived for a decade. His novel MOGADOR, published by City Lights in San Francisco in 1993, was awarded the Xavier Villaurrutia Prize, the most prestigious literary recognition in Mexico. And in 2017 ARS received the National Prize in Literature, the highest Life Achievement Award given in Mexico. His most recent novel, LOS SUEÑOS DE LA SERPIENTE, (Mazatlán Literary Award) was considered by Alberto Manguel, "one of the most important books published in Spanish Recently".
