Award-winning opera singer, translator, and podcast host Nanette McGuinness has translated over 100 books and graphic novels for children and adults from French, Italian, German and Spanish into English, including the much-loved Geronimo Stilton Graphic Novels, as well as Tiki: A Very Ruff Year (nominated for the 2023 Eisner and Harvey Awards) and Alice on the Run: One Child's Journey Through the Rwandan Civil War (2023 GLLI YA Translated Book Prize Honor Book, 2023 Mosaic Prize winner, 2023 Excellence in Graphic Literature Finalist and 2023 Harvey Award nominee). Accolades have also gone to her translations of Magical History Tour: Vikings and of Magical History Tour: Gandhi (both 2023 Excellence in Graphic Literature Finalists), Luisa: Now and Then (2019 Stonewall Honor Book; 2020 GLLI YA Translated Honor Book; YALSA's Great Graphic Novels for Teens in 2019) and California Dreamin': Cass Elliot Before the Mamas & the Papas (2018 Harvey Award; YALSA's Great Graphic Novels for Teens in 2018). She also reviews children's books in translation and interviews translators for Global Literature in Libraries Inititiative (GLLI-us.org) and WorldKidlLit (worldkidlit.org)

Her recent translations include: Through Clouds of Smoke: Freud's Final Days; Dagfrid, Viking Girl; Seoul Before Sunrise, Winter '43: From Wally's Memories; Magical History Tour: Marie Curie; Magical History Tour: Gladiators, YA mangas Just Friends and Sirius: Twin Stars, Smurf Tales #7,9,10,11 (with Joe Johnson) and Asterix Omnibus #12 (with Joe Johnson).

An award-winning opera singer and podcast host, Nanette has performed over 25 roles and in thirteen languages on two continents. She is the Artistic Executive Director of the contemporary chamber group Ensemble for These Times, which won The American Prize for Chamber Music Performance in 2021. She has also recorded six albums--five released on Centaur Recordings and four with Ensemble for These Times: "The Guernica Project" and "The Hungarians: from Rozsa to Justus" won Gold Medals in The Global Music Awards; "Surviving: Women's Words," and "Once/Memory/Night: Paul Celan," both won Silver Medals in the Global Music Awards.
