Vivian Gibson, Author, Genealogist, and Storyteller

Vivian Gibson was raised on Bernard Street in Mill Creek Valley—454 acres in the heart of downtown St. Louis that comprised the nation’s largest urban-renewal project beginning in 1959. She began writing her short stories after retiring at age 66. Her current project is a memoir entitled "The Last Children of Mill Creek."

Vivian was a contributing playwright of "50in50: Writing Women into Existence" (2017) performed at the Billie Holiday Theater in NYC. She is the author of three short stories, "The Line" , "Honey’s Money", and "Sunup to Sundown" published in STL Anthology (Belt Publishing) Spring 2019. Her memoir collection of stories: "The Last Children in Mill Creek."with Belt Publishing is scheduled to launch in June 2020.

Vivian received an AFA degree in apparel design from the Fashion Institute of Technology in NYC and earned a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Fontbonne University. Honored in 2012 as one of Washington University St. Louis’ Most Outstanding Students when she received her Masters in Nonprofit Management at age 63.

She resides in downtown St. Louis and has two adult children.
