Cynthia Zigmund spent more than twenty years in New York and Chicago publishing including positions at John Wiley & Sons, Inc., Van Nostrand Reinhold (a technical and reference publisher) and Irwin Professional Publishing (now McGraw-Hill). In 1996, Cynthia joined Dearborn Trade Publishing (now Kaplan Publishing) as executive editor. Six months after joining Dearborn she was promoted to editorial director, and was named vice president and publisher in 2000. During her ten years with Kaplan, Cynthia expanded the organization's program beyond real estate and finance to include management, general business, sales, marketing and architecture. Under her leadership, the organization published a number of business bestsellers and became a leading publisher of business books. In 2006, Cynthia founded Second City Publishing Services, LLC, a literary agency that represents both non-fiction and fiction authors. She holds a business degree from Monmouth University where she graduated summa cum laude.
