Joan Broerman has sold short stories, articles, poems and photos to magazines and newspapers and has contributed to more than a dozen books on the craft and business of writing for children. Her travel book Weekend Getaways in Alabama has appeared on best seller lists and continues to sell 17 years after publication. She speaks about writing at schools, bookstores, libraries,, service groups, and writers' conferences and presents an interactive writing wordshop series, "We Love to Write," for young authors in kindergarten through high school. A graduate of Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, she lives in Birmingham, Alabama.
