About

CURRENTLY, ROBIN GREGORY IS CLEARING THE WAY FOR CINEMATIC SCREENPLAYS OF LIMITLESS IMAGINATION AND SPECTACULAR RECKONINGS.

In truth, if you ask Robin who she is, she would say "I don't know. Life is a mystery. I just happen to be here, now, and there are many forces that brought me to this work. I'm not here to promote myself, or my work, or a brand. That would be a disservice to people. I am interested in erasing my human footprint from the world, clearing former programs and memories, and watching in awe as life unfolds. Every interaction with AG members and staff gives me the chance to do this, and therefore to see things more clearly. Thank you."

Her current life story began in Florida. She grew up in California, in an overpopulated Catholic hothouse with seven siblings surrounded by horses, real cowboys, and the occasional rattlesnake. She has always been drawn to helping others, a trait that began, to her mother's horror, with bringing home swallow chicks stricken from their nests. She has been by turns a lay minister and infant massage instructor.

For more buisness-minded folks, Robin studied Literature and Creative Writing at the University of California, Santa Cruz and Stanford Writer’s Workshop. Since then, she worked as a journalist, wrote a couple of novels (one in editing) and screenplays, (one in development) and published articles in "Modern Literature", "Film International", and "Ginosko Literary Journal".

Reviews of Robin's award-winning début, The Improbable Wonders of Moojie Littleman, draw parallels to Oliver Twist and Forrest Gump. (Published in 3 languages.) Her characters are clever and brave, but in real life, Robin has stage fright and gets lost in subways. Truth be told, she wouldn’t get very far in one of her stories. Her storytelling infuses ordinary life with mysticism and magical realism.

For peace of mind and inspiration, Robin cooks with her husband and son, hikes up hills backward, meditates, and treads on the heels of inspired writers/directors, Taika Waititi, Niki Caro, Benh Zeitlin, Guillermo del Toro, Danny Boyle, and Billy Luther.

Favorite Quote: “At the back of our brains, so to speak, there was a forgotten blaze or burst of astonishment at our own existence. The object of the artistic and spiritual life was to dig for this submerged sunrise of wonder.”
