Robert Zipser
I'm an entertainment attorney, a non-fiction writer, and an aspiring poet here in California. My clients include authors and publishers, independent film and television producers, screenwriters, life story rights subjects, production companies, record labels, and other entertainment professionals.
I am particularly experienced at negotiating, reviewing, and drafting option agreements for the motion picture and television rights to books. I have published articles in Filmmaker Magazine (including one on "How to Option a Book for Film Adaptation" which many authors have found helpful) and Los Angeles Lawyer, and I have had an article published in West's "2014 Publishing, Entertainment, and The Arts Handbook", an anthology of the best entertainment/intellectual property law articles of that year. I have also self-published an e-book entitled "The Indie Producer's Guide to Optioning Motion Picture Rights to Books" available through Amazon and Barnes & Noble online.
I am also currently working on a non-fiction book dealing with an intriguing and topical supernatural subject, and I am looking for an agent for it.
