I have been a writer since I could hold a crayon, telling stories for my own pleasure and to amuse others. After receiving my BA in English Literature, and then my Master's in English Literature, I pursed a Master's of Fine Arts in Creative Writing, much to the chagrin of my parents, who wondered what on earth I would do with such a degree.

Since graduating, I have worked as a technical writer, as a journalist, as a freelance writer, and as a freelance book editor, all the while working on my own writing in nonfiction and fiction.

Having raised two children in San Diego, I live abroad now, following where my husband's job takes us. We are currently in Calgary, Canada, after a three-year stint in Sao Paulo, Brazil. Raised an Army brat, travel is in my blood, and I feel I am a global citizen.
