About
Megan Edwards has lived in Illinois, Virginia, Texas, Costa Rica, Germany, Greece, and California. When her home in the hills above Los Angeles burned in wildfire, she seized the opportunity offered by sudden “stufflessness” to hit the road. What she thought would be a six-month interlude turned into a six-year odyssey all over North America. Her wheels rolled to a stop in the one city she never dreamed would call her name: Las Vegas. Enchanted by the unlikely metropolis in the desert, Edwards founded Living-Las-Vegas.com, a site dedicated to “real life in the shadow of the Strip.”
Featured Work
Roads from the Ashes: An Odyssey in Real Life on the Virtual Frontier
This edition marks the twentieth anniversary of Edwards’s memoir, which was first released in 1999. At its heart a story of making lemonade when life gives you lemons, this memoir is also a riveting and at times hilarious look at the early years of the World Wide Web. With a new introduction by the author and a foreword by Chris Epting, enjoy an armchair adventure across North America when the Internet was young. This edition also includes 22 photos dating from when the author lived on the road.
