About

Margaret Nevinski writes middle-grade fiction because she remembers the thrill of riding her bike with no hands. She teaches writing workshops for young writers, where she gets to help spark ideas and hear awesome stories. Margaret earned her MFA in Writing for Children and Young Adults at Vermont College of Fine Arts. She's published short stories in lit magazines, as well as books for the school market. Her middle-grade manuscript, Zach Hammerkop and the Summer of Doom, was a finalist for the Katherine Paterson Prize. After growing up in the Midwest, Margaret headed west until she hit water and boarded a ferry. She lives on an island near Seattle with her husband and their tuxedo cat, Scout. Margaret is represented by Jacqueline Lipton at Raven Quill Literary Agency.
