Waddy Thompson raised money for the arts for more than thirty years, working for a number of New York City nonprofits including Whitney Museum of American Art, InterSchool Orchestras of New York, New York Foundation for the Arts, The Authors Guild Foundation, and Symphony Space. He is the author of several books on fundraising, including The Complete Idiot’s Guide to Grant Writing, The Wise Guide to Winning Grants, The Quick Wise Guide to Writing Grant Proposals, and The Quick Wise Guide to Fundraising Readiness. He is also a former faculty member of New York University’s Heyman Center for Philanthropy and Fundraising. He trained as a composer at Eastman School of Music and Florida State University, earning a doctorate from the latter. He now lives in Sarasota, Florida, and his web site is grantadviser.com.
