Margaret Shaver Verble
Margaret Verble, author of Maud's Line, and several short stories, is a citizen of the Cherokee Nation of Oklahoma. She currently lives in Lexington, KY.

Maud's Line
Finalist for the Pulitzer Prize in Fiction, 2016, Maud's Line is set in 1928, in eastern Oklahoma, on the Indian allotment land owned by the author's family. It tells the story of Maud Nail, a young Indian woman who yearns to escape her hard and dangerous life.
