Margaret Verble, author of Maud's Line, Finalist for the Pulitzer Prize, and Cherokee America, winner of the Spur Award for Best Western and a New York Times Notable Book. She is a citizen of the Cherokee Nation of Oklahoma and currently lives in Lexington, KY.

Maud's Line
Finalist for the Pulitzer Prize in Fiction, 2016, Maud's Line is set in 1928, in eastern Oklahoma, on the Indian allotment land owned by the author's family. It tells the story of Maud Nail, a young Indian woman who yearns to escape her hard and dangerous life.
