I'm 79 (that's right), a retired journalist and author of 6 books (a few of them published).
Those include a couple of true crime, a History of Oil State's Industries, a novel (Where Late the Sweet Birds Sang). a cookbook and a number of published essays.
I have one unfinished novel in the works and I may yet finish it.
I have worked as a newspaper reporter and editor, written for magazines, as a ranch hand, a carpenter and had a highly unsuccessful run as an antique dealer.
My wife, Dianna, and I live on some rural acreage near Nashville, Tn., though I spent most of my life in Texas.
