About

Kimberly McClune was born in Rochester, New York, and grew up in Boulder, Colorado where her family moved in the early 1970's. Kimberly attended college in both Iowa and Pennsylvania where she graduated with two consecutive BA degrees, one in Music and the other in English.

Growing up, Kimberly was either writing stories and poems or dancing and singing. Kimberly lived all over New England after college becoming a semi-professional dancer and instructor of Middle Eastern dance styles.

Kimberly has had a long career in the insurance industry where she worked her way into a position that utilizes her writing and analytic skills. Meanwhile, Kimberly has come back to her love of writing since her daughter was born. Telling made up bedtime stories turned into writing them down so they could be remembered and read again as originally told. Then Kimberly began writing poetry when she was inspired by a particularly beautiful sunrise she watched while making her way through rush hour traffic.

Kimberly has had 5 of her poems published in various volumes for Poetry Quarterly. She has also developed a full book of poems written during her time in the Roaring Fork Valley in Colorado while working in Aspen.

Kimberly is currently working on several projects including a cookbook, a book of Haiku, a book of children's bedtime stories, and is developing a number of new and exciting romance novels.
