About

Jenn Shon (alt. Jenn Flynn-Shon) is a twelve-times published author and full-time boss-beach. To get through the perils of being uncool in sixth grade, she picked up a notebook and pen and hasn't looked back since. Don’t tell her that means she’s been writing for over forty years. Jenn founded her micro-press publishing house, Writesy Press, LLC, in 2012. Every book is a unique publishing experience. She has the scars to prove it. If not physical, certainly emotional.

In her quest to pay the bills over the years, Jenn has worked an array of jobs. Everything from live-in nanny to Executive Assistant for the President of a telecom company. Now, as a full-time creative, she’s telling her stories. Acting as a warning to others on their creative journeys to not fu(k it up for so long like Jenn did.

Then again, maybe the mistakes are the fun part. Don’t ya think?

On a personal note, she struggles with cliché because Jenn loves long walks on the beach with her husband at sunset.

Things I believe: Music unites, music is therapy, and everyone deserves to enjoy the music they love. Even if most of their collection is irreverent pop with lyrics thinner than a two-dollar bill. Not every moment calls for deeper meaning. Sometimes, music is about nothing more than fun. Whether scream singing fifties doo-wop on the subway as a teen, or smoking a joint with a limo driver outside a rock show in my twenties, music punctuates my life. I can’t get enough. And, I don’t care how I consume it—live, vinyl, boom box, cassette, digitally or my all-time favorite media, CDs. Hell, I early adopted a social media profile for the music alone. I also learned to play, another story you’ll read in this book. With nearly every major event in my life, I can name a song to honor time, place, people. Unlike a concert, some peeps stuck for more than one night. They hand-stamped my forever memories by joining in the soundtrack of my existence. I’ve been in mosh pits, backstage, and even been on TV because of a favorite band. I share my heartfelt, debaucherous, and humorous moments with you here.
