About
Dr. Elizabeth Rodgers is a Harvard-trained epidemiologist, writer, speaker, and host of the Higher Health with Dr. Elizabeth Rodgers podcast. She writes at the intersection of science, soul, and lived experience, challenging conventional ideas about pain, healing, and what it means to become whole. Her work explores pain, health, identity, connection, and the ways our relationship with what hurts us can transform who we become.
Her perspective was shaped by more than twenty years of study and work spanning psychology, public health, epidemiology, research, and integrative healing, as well as by two near-death experiences and decades of chronic illness, trauma, and abuse. Those experiences ultimately led her to develop Higher Health, a philosophy rooted in the belief that lasting transformation begins with a deeper relationship with ourselves.
Dr. Rodgers holds a BS in psychology, an MPH, and a doctorate in epidemiology from the University of Pittsburgh and completed postdoctoral training at Harvard Medical School and Massachusetts General Hospital. Her expertise includes healthy aging and longevity, and she has published peer-reviewed scientific research. With more than twenty years of public-speaking experience, she has appeared in more than thirty television, radio, and podcast interviews.
She is also the founder of The Rodgers Institute: Center for Research and Training, where she advances independent, integrity-driven research and mentors emerging researchers. Through her writing, podcast, Substack, speaking, and media appearances, Dr. Rodgers has created a growing platform centered on pain, health, identity, connection, and personal transformation.
Passionate about making a positive contribution to the publishing world, Dr. Rodgers is a member of the Authors Guild, Nonfiction Authors Association (NFAA), and the Florida Writers Association. She is currently at work on her second of many books. Dear Pain - Signed, Love, a memoir told through intimate letters to Love, is her trade debut.
