About
I am Lisa Roberts, a Tennessee-based author and founder of Ember House Literary, an independent publishing house built around imprints for readers at every age. Writing under the pen name The Whisperarian, I am currently at work on The Library of Lost Books, a middle-grade adventure novel following siblings Harlow and Edison Thorne as they uncover a sentient library and a cipher hidden in its card catalog. My work is rooted in a belief that a love of reading, once kindled in childhood, shapes a life — and my fiction is built to spark exactly that kind of wonder in young readers. Roberts lives and writes in Tennessee.

The Algorithm Knows
What if the algorithm didn’t just know what you were going to do next, but had already decided for you?
At Oakhaven University, CampusLink was designed to identify students in crisis before it was too late. It knows who is struggling. Who will fail. Who might break.
And who might disappear.
When Nora Ly begins investigating the disappearance of her brother, Leo, she discovers that CampusLink is doing far more than predicting human behavior. Someone has learned how to use the system to shape it.
As Nora follows a trail of data, hidden patterns, and increasingly disturbing decisions, she is forced to confront a terrifying possibility: the system may understand people better than they understand themselves.
In a world where every choice can be modeled, categorized, and manipulated, Nora must decide how much of her future is still her own.
The Algorithm Knows is an intelligent speculative thriller about surveillance, autonomy, predictive technology, and the invisible systems quietly shaping modern life.
