About

I am doing what I hope is a final rewrite of a creative nonfiction book entitled The Making of a Wife Rapist: Peeling Back the Layers of Time. In this book, I tell Art’s stories in his own words. I move back and forth between the present and the past, peeling back the layers of time to reveal how this good-looking, educated white man from a seemingly normal, loving, and respectable family and community became who he is. Art raped his wife Elena, molested their niece, and masturbated to rape and snuff porn for 19 years.

Elena gave him an ultimatum: attend a residential sex offender treatment program or I will tell the police you raped me. “I don’t mind trading a hundred thousand dollars to not go to prison for ten years,” Art told me. From one decision to another, beginning before he was five years old, he was on a steady march to a sex offender treatment program and losing everything.
