Lauren Gladstone is a writer, genealogist, and executive function and ADHD coach based in Philadelphia. For more than two decades, she has researched her Dutch Jewish family history, tracing her roots in the Netherlands to 1727 and uncovering a remarkable story of survival, displacement, art, and restitution.

Her writing explores family history, Jewish identity, memory, belonging, and the ways the past continues to shape generations that follow. Her work has appeared in the Times of Israel, Genealogy Matters, and on her Substack, where she writes personal essays that bring together family history and contemporary life.

Lauren is currently working on *The House of Tangerines*, a narrative nonfiction book rooted in her family's experiences before, during, and after the Holocaust, including her grandfather's work as a prominent Dutch Old Masters art dealer, her family's escape from Nazi-occupied Europe, and the decades-long effort to recover artworks lost during the war.

Her research has taken her through family archives, photographs and correspondence, oral histories, Holocaust-era records, art provenance and restitution files, and archives throughout Europe. She has also traveled to the places where her family lived, fled, and rebuilt their lives, seeking to understand not only what happened to them, but what those experiences meant to the generations that followed.

At the heart of her work is a simple belief: family stories survive only when we choose to tell them.
