About
Born in 1947, I grew up on the west coast of Florida. I won awards for my writing in high school, but the Vietnam War interrupted that thread of productivity and put to rest any hope at earning a living at writing.
My service in the military was on Nuclear Powered Fleet Ballistic Missile submarines. Starting a family while serving our country created a need to earn a living that paid immediately.
I fed my writing need by creating newsletters for nonprofits as an administrator. Later, again as an administrator, I wrote and negotiated Public/Private contracts for municipalities.
In retirement from public service, I spent nine years in a business partnership that required my attention elsewhere.
I started writing for pleasure seriously in August of 2025, as therapy to mitigate a military connected disability. Awards for my writing that I have since received center on poetry, but I mainly write creative nonfiction short stories. I am currently working on a book of stories that I hope to publish in 2027.
Now that I have the time, I write every day.
