About

Allison is a dedicated mother, writer, and passionate suicide prevention advocate. Having entered parenthood nearly 24 years ago, she is the proud mother of four sons: Alex, Grant, Jack and Barrett (affectionately known as her four boys named Alex), with Alex having passed away by suicide last year.
In the wake of this profound loss, she channeled her grief into purposeful action, diving deep into advocacy, writing, and storytelling. Believing that preventing suicide requires moving far beyond simply sharing a crisis hotline, she champions the necessity of having raw, courageous conversations about mental health, grief, and survival. Through her writing and advocacy work, she strives to break the silence surrounding suicide, foster genuine connection, and create spaces where the hardest truths can finally be spoken.
