Carmel Mawle is the author and illustrator of The Golden Rule, the first book in the "Collected Wisdom" series, published by Ardea Herodias Books. Twice nominated for the Pushcart Prize, her short stories, essays, and poetry have been published in Smokelong Quarterly, Vox Populi, Literary Mama, Hive Avenue, Mom Egg Review, KNOT Magazine, and others. Carmel’s short story, “Heading South,” earned Honorable Mention in the 2023 Rick Demarinis Short Story Contest, and is published in Cutthroat, A Journal of the Arts 28. Her poem, “Enough” recently appeared in HerWords, Black Mountain Press.
