Based on True Events
Hollywood Bowl. 2003. After her booze & blow blunder destroys her rock star husband’s comeback concert — and their marriage, sharp-witted, cynical Charlemagne Devlin loses the glamorous escapist life she built to outrun the devastating grief from her past. Left behind is a husband who made her sterile, a future without the children she can never have, and the ultimate humiliation: being replaced by her lifelong high school nemesis, only months before their reunion.
Banished back to her year-round Christmas hometown — where seemingly everyone has children and the picture-perfect promise of family is impossible to escape — for court-ordered rehab classes, Charlemagne will “do anything and deny everything” to avoid the pain she’s spent years escaping. Through booze, schemes, and reckless attempts to reclaim her old life, she spirals even further from reality — until she must confront the one thing she believes she cannot survive.
