About
Bobbie Merica is a medical simulation expert and the founder of Moulage Concepts Inc. and AOIFA — the Advocacy Organization for Interception, First Response, and All-Hazards. With more than 20 years of practitioner-led experience in medical moulage and trauma simulation, she is the author of Medical Moulage: How to Make Your Simulations Come Alive! (F.A. Davis, 2011, ISBN 978-0-8036-2499-3), the field's foundational text on simulation wound creation.
Since 2016, AOIFA has led a new model of community preparedness — the only program of its kind — built on NeuroArt, AOIFA's original method pairing immersive simulation with trauma-informed training. Grounded in prevention, intervention, and interception, AOIFA delivers the 360Sensitive CAPE program to schools, families, communities, and first responders, building readiness and resilience.
Her work spans peer-reviewed research, curriculum development, and mass-casualty-incident training used by simulation centers, EMS agencies, and military medical programs nationwide. She has received multiple EMS World Innovation Awards and Inc. Magazine recognition for her contributions to trauma-training curriculum development. Through Moulage Concepts and AOIFA, she continues building trauma-training and community-preparedness programs grounded in two decades of hands-on clinical simulation practice.
