About
Sandra Rivera Sánchez is a Puerto Rican children’s book author, creative entrepreneur, and founder of Tales & Spice, a publishing initiative dedicated to celebrating culture, imagination, and emotional resilience through beautifully crafted stories for young readers.
Born and raised in Puerto Rico, Sandra began her professional life in the world of advertising, where she worked as a Media Director. Her early career sharpened her eye for storytelling, visual communication, and audience connection—skills that would later become foundational to her work as an author and publisher. After leaving the corporate world, she embraced a more heart-centered path, teaching children’s yoga and deepening her understanding of childhood development, emotional literacy, and the power of narrative to shape young minds.
Sandra is the award‑winning author of several children’s books, including Los caballitos de mar se mudan de coral and La frisita que voló el Caribe, stories that blend Caribbean landscapes, cultural pride, and themes of courage, belonging, and transformation. Her books have been celebrated for their lyrical voice, vibrant imagery, and ability to connect with children and families across cultures.
Driven by a desire to expand access to culturally rich stories, Sandra founded Tales & Spice, investing her own resources to bring her vision to life. Through this venture, she has grown her presence in Puerto Rico and the United States, building partnerships with bookstores, schools, libraries, and community organizations. She is now focused on scaling the business sustainably—formalizing contracts, building a values‑aligned team, and expanding distribution while preserving the warmth and authenticity that define her brand.
Sandra’s work is guided by a deep belief in the transformative power of stories. She creates narratives that help children feel seen, inspired, and connected to the world around them. Her long‑term vision is to establish Tales & Spice as a beloved, globally recognized publisher of children’s literature that celebrates culture, nature, and imagination. She is currently translating her titles into English and developing new books that continue her mission of inspiring young readers everywhere.
Whether she is drafting a manuscript, designing a media kit, or collaborating with educators and retailers, Sandra brings a unique blend of creativity, clarity, and cultural pride to everything she does. Her journey is one of resilience, purpose, and unwavering commitment to uplifting children through the magic of storytelling.
