Cyndi Perkins is an award-winning writer, editor, and communications strategist who thrives as a story shepherd in her role as the associate director of communications at Michigan Technological University, where she leads narrative-driven content strategy across digital and print platforms. She also serves as the primary feature writer for the University and managing editor for Gateway and Impact magazines. Her professional roots are in community journalism, including a decade as a writer and editor for The Daily Mining Gazette, where Cyndi and her editorial team earned honors from the Associated Press, the Michigan Press Association, and Thomson News in categories ranging from breaking news, features, and opinion columns to Michigan AP's 1996 Paper of the Year.

Cyndi is the author of More Than You Think You Know, a coming-of-rage adventure situated on the wild waterways of the Eastern U.S. Her novel, situated at the intersection of upmarket and book club fiction, is inspired by her own four-year journey living aboard a sailboat, during which she twice completed a 6,000-mile circumnavigation of America’s Great Loop. Her travel writing has appeared in national publications, including Cruising World and PassageMaker.
