I’m the author of the memoir My Miserable, Lonely, Lesbian Pregnancy (Cleis Press) and the editor of Badass: True Stories, the Double Album (Lominy Books). I’ve written for The New York Times, Washington Post, Salon, Slate, The Rumpus, NBC News, CNN, Glamour, Huffington Post, The Writer, NPR, and PBS. I founded Lip Service, a James L. Knight award winning storytelling series. For ten years, I produced and hosted the podcast Writing Class Radio, which hit a million downloads. I am a Moth StorySlam winner. I teach memoir and produce storytelling shows for organizations including Chapman House, Women’s Emergency Network, and the Center for Ecosystem Science and Society. I’m launching All Sides of the Story, a live storytelling series to bring people together from all sides of the political spectrum. I love helping people tell their stories. I have a new memoir forthcoming currently titled: Shut Up for Love with Crux from University of Georgia Press.
