About

I started writing at the age of fourteen. At 38, somebody noticed. Since 2003, I have published fifteen novels and a memoir:

A Burning in Homeland (S&S), The Teddy Ruzak Mysteries (Minotaur;4 books), Collections of a Tax Collector (HarperCollins), The Alfred Kropp Trilogy (Bloomsbury), The Monstrumologist Series (S&S; 4 books), and The 5th Wave Trilogy (PRH), the first installment of which was adapted by Sony Pictures in 2016.

The first book of The Monstrumologist series received the Printz Honor in 2010. The second book, The Curse of the Wendigo, was nominated for the Los Angeles Times Book Prize. The Extraordinary Adventures of Alfred Kropp was a finalist for the Carnegie Medal (UK), and the first book of The 5th Wave won the Red House Book Award (UK).

My work has been translated into over 30 languages.
