About
My writing explores the unique intricacies of gay interracial relationships. My first novel, THE MENTOR brings the reader into the world of men's professional basketball where no out gay player has received a contract in more than a dozen years. The story exposes the ubiquitous sport myth, "team is family" as the hero is forced to fight for those he loves and his NBA career while risking losing both. Imagine HEATED RIVALRY on a basketball court.
I've been a writer since my high school days when I achieved by-lined status at my hometown newspapers, Peterborough Transcript and Monadnock Ledger. At Syracuse University, I served as Hall of Fame basketball coach Jim Boeheim's first student manager. During my career as an award-winning investor relations expert and entrepreneur, I was published in trade journals and books. In addition, I've been a coach of championship-winning basketball teams and have mentored more than a dozen high school players awarded college scholarships, including two who went on to play professionally.
I'm a member of The Author's Guild, Pitch2Publish writing group and The Manuscript Academy and am currently seeking representation of THE MENTOR. I live in The Netherlands with my six-foot-seven-inch husband who did not play basketball.
