About

The short version is a storied life of a fourth generation California girl raised on a picturesque Northern California purebred Hereford ranch, to the education disciplines, to world travel, and then to writing and publishing all about my adventures. And after almost eight decades, I have many stories to tell, the long version. As a small girl, I lived on a cow/horse ranch with riding through the red white-faced cattle on my own horse, its private swimming hole for picnics and birthday parties, and visitors/dignitaries from high places (San Francisco, Los Angeles, Washington, DC). That was the start of an untold history waiting to be recorded. Becoming a teacher was my fortunate introduction to the publishing world; I worked for McGraw-Hill, Macmillan, Harcourt Brace in the education division. This opportunity naturally led to world-wide experiences: riding horses on a Spanish hacienda, standing in front of Joan of Arc's crypt in Mont Serrat, watching kangaroos fill an Australian field, or snorkeling the Blue Reef in the Caribbean. I have taken many pictures and chronicled the experiences. At the same time, my family gathered what was to become a famous collection of highly valuable horse tack (hand-made silver bridles, some over 100 years old) that symbolically represents this history my family lived. It has stood in museums, events, and speakers tables such as Western Heritage Museum, OKC, and Cowboy Arts and Gear Museum, Elko, Nevada. This fortunate woman prefers to share her blessed life with others, protect the precious western heritage, and tell the stories in her photographic, coffee table books.
